Do you ever feel like no one understands how honestly thick your hair is? Well I do, and I need advice on what to do. I have always had more hair then I knew what to do with! Now 8 weeks after the birth of my son and all the hair that never fell out due to being pregnant my hair is EXTREMELY unmanageable thick! Advice?! I need the ends trimmed I know this, but even when I get my hair thinned, it seems to me it is always thick still. It is to my chest and just sits there like two fluffy cat tails, haha. I wear extensions constantly because then it adds some length to curl and make it look somewhat normal!

I have a mixture of African-Caribbean and Indian hair I guess you could say..Ratio being about 99:1, so you know it's REALLY thick. What I do to make it manageable is, as soon as I finish washing & conditioning it, I comb it out and add my hair oil and braid it into about five or six braids. When I have school or have to go out, I pull it out and style. And when I get back home, I comb it out, add oil (my hair is really dry, so you might use a different product) and do the same thing again. It works well for me. The hair dries in the braids and is wavy and manageable when you pull it out :) Hope this helps.

Me too. I have found that keeping it layered has worked the best for getting it to lie flatter and not puff out like a triangle lol. Mine gets frizzy in the heat as well so using a little bit of leave-in conditioner on the ends on humid days helps a lot. In a pinch, I've rubbed a thick lotion into my hands and then run my fingers through the ends of my hair after....it really does seem to do the trick for frizz.
If you're having a hard time and it is just laying there and doesn't move with your head, it sounds like you would benefit from having more layers cut into the lower half of your hair. I don't necessarily mean chunky layers, just graduated ends so that the hair moves naturally. You should talk to your stylist about this and they should be able to show you a lot of good ways to resolve it.
