I don't think highlighters are always necessary, sometimes it can look like too much. I think just contouring is fine, as long as it's blended out and looks natural :)

I don't always use a highlighter, I think it's all about what you like :) xox.

I use a highlighter probably every other day, but I don't think it's a big deal when I don't use one! I don't think it is silly at all (: x

I love contouring without highlighter and I think highlighter is vastly overrated. I never ever use highlighter!

While I'm a big fan of highlighting various parts of the face, I don't feel like it's necessary for everyone for every day. Just do what makes you feel comfortable. :]

I definitely don't think it's necessary! Often times once you contour you already make your face look somewhat highlighted without even adding a highlighter.

I only highlight when I need to look "extra special" i guess. For daily things its not really a big deal to me, but if its a formal thing then i tend to use some. But make up is about what you like. It's your face, do what you want with it XD

I don't think it is necessary to wear a highlighter everyday or even at all if you want to. Although I love wearing a highlighter there are days with certain make up or with a certain blush Ill think to myself that it looks prettier without or that I dont need to add a highlighter that day,

I rarely ever highlight and I just use bronzer along with my tinted moisturizer and concealer. I don't think highlighter is necessary at all!

Once you contour your cheekbones the right way there isn't a major need for a highlighter, it just gives it some extra definition :) If you contour from the corner of your lip to the top of your ear and start directly down from the middle of your eye and work backwards in circles it will define your cheekbones! Also on your chin and to slenderize your face contour your temples and rim of your forehead. hope this was easy enough to understand and you find it helpful chicks! xo

Every time I contour I tend to put blush, and this leads me to highlighting my face. It just feels incomplete to me if I don't do all three. For me it's either all or nothing.
The highligher I use is MAC's SHROOM eyeshadow, so it's very subtle to begin with (at least against my tan skintone)

you don't always HAVE TO highlight. remember, there are no rules in makeup! highlighting is just one of those accents. some women prefer dewy looking skin, some others matte. those who are more on the oily side tend to favor a matte face. those with dry skin tend to favor a dewy looking face. it also goes for skin color as well. if your on the lighter side, highlighting isn't too necessary. if you're tan, and darker, highlighting would be great. contouring is more for the lighter side to define the face and give it some depth rather than leave it as a plain canvas. know what i mean? lol :P it's all about experimenting! try it.
