Hey guys. So I keep dying my hair a dark brown color. I've had to do it twice already. I use wella in medium brown and mix it with the solution. It comes out great. But within a week I see it lightening which is normal. But then my hair keeps turning blonde. My.natural hair is light brown with tints of blonde. I also use a color protestant shampoo. Could it be the castor oil I put in my hair? Let me know what you think and suggestions you have for the next time I dye it. Thanks!!

Hi Samantha,
What volume developer are you using? It could be that when you mix it with the solution (the developer) it is too high and is actually lifting your hair color.

I can't remember the name but I believe it's also Wella and I use number 20.

Wella is fantastic - you should have no trouble with it fading like that. Everyone's hair is different and of different texture so since you are actually dying your hair darker, I would recommend lowering your developer volume to 10 and even doing it twice in a row. That should help a lot. Also with your color protection shampoo, make sure it is sulfate free. That should help! Good luck!
