How do I put on tinted moisturiser?

I tried putting on foundation yesterday but it made my skin look really dark in some places so I thought that tinted moisturiser would be a better option, how do I put it on so it's even and doesn't look bad?

I use my finger and just apply it like lotion!

With clean fingers! Just apply it like face lotion. :)
