Psoriasis on my face...

I have psoriasis all over my body but I don't care about it that much because I can cover that with clothes.
However I get it all over my forehead and other parts of my face. I was wondering if anyone has products they really like to use or creams or oils. Any tips at all really.
I find no matter what foundation I use my skin looks awful as well.

Someone very close to me struggles with psoriasis but has recently had amazing results by taking Tumeric pills. I've also heard Cumin works wonders. You get even better results if you ingest it AND use it as a topical mask. Just mix the Tumeric and Cumin with water and apply it directly to your face. Let it dry, rinse.

Hope that helps! It really works for the woman I know.

I used to have it all over my forehead, and believe me, I seriously tried everything. I, too, have it all over my body (scalp, elbows, knees) and it's truly a pain. Try using Aquafor Healing Ointment and I know this sounds weird, but go out in the sun. I used to have it all over my forehead, and now it is 100% gone just from being out in the sun. Remember to wear sunscreen though. Good luck :)

The trick is figuring out what works for your "type". There are several kinds of psoriasis and they all respond in dofferent ways. Turmeric, as well as cherry extra and other natural anti-inflammatories can work once they're built up in your system(as well as not having any bad side effects, assuming there aren't allergies involved). It can take some time though and you may not see results if your psoriasis is stubborn. I've discovered that if I GENTLY exfoliate by using a soft, textured sponge with a cream based cleanser (i use one from Burts Bees) or an oil cleanser (also from Burts Bees... It's a citrus/orange oil one) and then using something as simple as either coconut oil (my preference) or olive oil, it keeps the dry patches down so that I can even cover them with mineral makeup (also a preference). You don't want to use too much oil if you're going out or it won't soak in. At night though, I lather it on as much as I like. In fact I've official replaced my entire body/face creams with coconut oil. You can also check into adding essential oils. Lavendar is a good anti-inflammatory. I've found that tea tree oil helps if there's itching. But you never want to use straight essential oils. I like mixing mine in with my coconut oil. There is a TON of info out there if you just google the topic. Again, it's more about testing things out on an individual basis. But also, I recommend to EVERYONE with extreme psoriasis to make sure you keep in touch with your doctor. Like the original post stated, I also have it over my entire body. I dealt with it by covering it. But by not dealing with what causes the problem it can become worse, as mine did as I got older. It's an immune system issue and that's nothing to ignore. I hope anyone with this problem finds a solution! I know how frustrating it can be. The way I see it, walking around my home at night covered in oil was easier to deal with then dry, flaking skin. The coconut oil even had my skin feeling incredible soft for at least a day. I was told that some people respond well to lanolin. When I was a child I did. But not so much now. And it can be difficult to work with as well as an irritant for those with sensitivities. The basic thing I do is, if I have to buy a ready made product is, look at the ingredients... the simpler the list the better. I really hope this helps someone.

Go see a doctor and tell him about your problem. Maybe he'll get you something called a lightening treatment?

I agree with Angela Turmeric is a great choice. It is anti-inflammatory, helps skin heal! With the mask, because you are fair, mix with plain yogurt so your skin does't turn yellow (mine will turn yellow if I use to much turmeric).

L-lysine is also great for skin repair just as it is for cold sores. It helps the body regenerate healthy skin cells. Should be taken consistently 2-3x a day, plenty of water and some food.
Keep your skin HYDRATED and use dye & fragrance free products. I use Murad sensitive skin serum on my clients and they love it. If it's severe visit your derm.
