Keratin is a treatment that basically makes your hair super straight! A protein treatment is something like "it's a 10" I myself have super curly hair and I straighten it all the time and that can be damaging but when I put this treatment on its legit like a miracle! It leaves it so soft and shiny and I love it!

Keratin treatments did contain formaldahyde, which is more harmful to the stylists actually when applying heat since the heat causes it to vaporize, but the treatments have side been revamped and should not contain them anymore. Or thats what my teacher said anyway. Formaldahyde is also in nail polish deodorant and lotions. Even in victoria secret bras padding I've heard.

The "its a 10" no. It just makes your hair much much healthier and it repairs it leaving it looking shinier and softer!

It is a protein treatment that coats the hairshaft. It's non permanent. It's great for damaged hair and overly curly or frizzy. We charged $200 in my salon in tx. I wouldn't worry about the formaldehyde. You do have to use special hair products and shampoo or it can break down the treatment faster. It's not perfect but it cuts styling time down by 90%. Not for ppl that like their curls. Never get a relaxer unless you are black or have extreme hair texture.

Hmmm Mary...I'm sorry but when did relaxer become only a black person thing? Sure they are marketed towards WOC (women of color) but I have a few blood related white family members who use relaxers. Does that also mean that "extreme hair textures" aren't beautiful? :(

I paid $120 an my hair was half way down my back. Lasted a year and didnt have to straighten my hair, humidity never made it frizz again. I think it was completely worth it. Couldn't wash my hair for 2 days or tie it up but that was fine. Completely repairs any damage in your hair.
