I'll be doing my first large wedding party in the next few weeks as well. Because it will be my first large gig I'm going to bring along a friend as my assistant. She will be in charge of cleaning brushes and keeping my station organized and if time is tight then I plan to have her prep faces (clean, moisturize and prime) as well. I also created a schedule for each person that will give them a specific timeslot to be in the chair, that way I won't have to go looking for them. I'm allowing 30-40 mins for bridesmaids and 1 hour for the bride. I also put in some cushion time in case it goes longer for any particular person. Luckily, my bride wants similar looks for the bridesmaids so that's really good for me.

Take an assistant with you. If it's not an MUA, show them how to properly clean your tools for the next client. If it is an MUA, have them prep the next client for you so you can save time.

Know exactly the look you're going to do on the client, what their skin type is and if they have problem areas that will need more attention. Have all of your products lined up so that you're not scrambling.

Airbrush cuts down on time too, if you know how to properly use it.

Have everyone come with a CLEAN face prior to makeup application.

Good luck!

1) Don't be too creative. Keep everything simple because of the numbers and the time

2) Most women don't, or are not, used to wearing any or a lot of make-up, so a clean simple look will look totally amazing on the girl when she looks in the mirror.

3) For hygiene, I highly recommend Beauty So Clean for your make-up and either use Cinema Secrets, Ben Nye, or Parian Spirit brush cleaners for your brushes, as only those 3 brush cleaners instantly cleans, disinfects, sanitizes, conditions and dries your brushes completely in seconds, (typically less than 10 seconds your natural bristle brushes will be soft and bone dry). It takes about a minute to dry synthetic brushes
Always wipe your brushes clean on paper towel and not kleenex tissue because of the lint/dust will stick to the bristles. You'll know when your brushes are clean when there is no pigment transfer on the paper towel. This is crucial when you're doing mulitple people in a very short amount of time.

4) having multiple foundation and concealer brushes help. On a budget, sponges also work, but they will be expensive as time goes on.

5) For liners, Beauty So Clean works, but I recommend sharpening them before each person. For liquids use a pencil liner brush, I recommend using a cake liner because it's more hygienic. However, powders are much easier and faster to use. I use eyeshadow in my personal expeirence most the time

6) Keep chatter to a minimum. Aknowlegde the conversation by nodding your head or saying "Mm, mm." Always keep focused. Chatter is the biggest time killer in this industry.

7) YOU and only YOU control the make-up process. You will have a couple of women who will want a certain look that will take up too much of your time. Don't relent. Remind them that this is on a limited time and that you have other appointments that you have to keep.

8) Remember to keep your process clean and simple and don't be too creative.

I can't stress #7 of what Amanda B posted! You have a small window, so you have to take charge.

Do everyones lips at the very end... Then after everyone is dressed put on their lip liner and lipgloss or lipstick:) it will save u time that's easier to knock out one after the other. Each person should take 20 mins bride 40 then at the very end do lips:)makes for great photos as well:)
