I'm thinking of buying it but what's your views on it?

Best mascara I have ever used. I used to use Dior Xtasy and Benefits blows it out of the water. It is amazing how gorgeous it makes my lashes.

I heard that in the ingredients is a substance which is cancer-causing. So I prefer to not use it.

Snowi do you know which ingredient? I'd like to do some research and make sure I'm not using cancer causing mascara. Sephora gave it away as a birthday gift to everyone this year. I would hope they'd do their homework before passing out cancer sticks.

Yes I love it also use it and love it! I do use it with another brush as I'm not struck on the one you get with it. Snowi where did you get this information from? Obviously I would like to know more also.

Unless there is documented proof (I.e. independent research done by a lab) of this ingredient that you failed to post Snowi it would wise not to say anything because it creates so much stress amongst those who like to be informed about ingredients and what they apply to their face. Basically come forth with solid information and not just "rumor".

Http://www.hr-online.de/website/rubriken/ratgeber/index.jsp?rubrik=55373&key=standard_document_48167975 Its a german site so I guess you guys will not understand. The substance is caused by the pollutant of ,,Triethanolamin,,. The benefit mascara has this one in the ingredients.

I just asked my chemist husband about Triethanolamin and he said its a common ingredient used in pharmaceutical products and a emulsifier in a lot of common skincare and household products. And that there are different grades of it used depending on its targeted use. Once he started going on about PH levels he lost me but in so many words he said its quite harmless and effect those who may have an allergy to it. He said the stuff to be really concerned about are the perservatives used in our hair, skin, makeup products. A lot of mascaras on the market have Triethanolamin along with hand soap, laundry detergent and even ear drops.

Shelley you and your husband are just a fountain of information :) I love finding out what's actually IN cosmetics, because I can't pronounce 3 quarters of the ingredients in most of the products I use and even if I could I have no idea what they are haha.

With that being said I love They're Real but it is a pain to take off- I use an oil based makeup remover and just soak my lashes in it.

Grace...when I bring stuff home my husband reads the ingredient list and if he feels ok with it being used it stays. Some stuff has slipped past him and its usually later when I have an issue with it does he find it and then "educates" as to why x,y and z happened to me. Some brands/products he won't dare let me buy because of what he knows about their chemical makeup and how that company may do things on the shady to make a profit. He had to tell a client last week that he is phasing out facial micro beads due to the consequences on the environment and he read me the riot act and told me that my current facial scrub will be the last jar I bring into the home because of his stance on them. My beloved scrub contains very small round plastic balls that sea life mistake as fish eggs. I wish he would just write a book for consumers covering ingredients. Its definitely needed. :(

So good to know I don't have to throw out my favorite mascara. I just bought two new tubes of it!
