So, I finally bit the bullet and ordered Kat Von D's lock it foundation, in liquid & powder. I got the primer too. I was disappointed in the liquid. I tried a miriad of applications. I felt it really separated on my skin after putting a highlight on every pore on my face and the longevity of wear was shockingly low. The powder? AMAZING... BUT... the quantity of product is so little! Sad... it will all have to go back. I am glad I kept an open mind to try it though. Just wanted to put it out there.

Did you try the foundation without the primer? I've heard a lot of people hate the primer and that the foundation does much better on it's own or with a different primer.

Usually some foundations don't work well with a primer (kat von d is pretty heavy coverage in my opinion!) primer sometimes messes with the foundation... Try it without or a different primer!! But everyone is different.

Yea. I tried with the corresponding primer, Laura Mercier, dry skin, light lotion, rich lotion. Brush, kabuki brush, wet sponge, dry, fingers... setting spray. I really wanted to love it. the powder was simple and flawless, and lasted great! But 34$... dang. I can get 3x the application from Smash box or Bare Minerals... If I were brave and had a camera, I'd do a youtube video...

I agree. Skip a primer! I only use moisturizer under foundation now.

Same thing happened to me with Kat von d foundation liquid. I was soo excited when I bought it but when I put it on me for couple of days it looked terrible. BUT after couple of days I started really moisturizing and priming my face. After doing that it looked sooo beautiful and natural. Now it has become my HOLY GRAIL product.
