For ages I've had greasy hair , I was my hair every other day but the day after I was my hair it turns greasy, has anyone got any tips, it also doesn't help me as I have quite flat hair as it is and by making it greasy it makes it even flatter.

Aw I know what you mean! Try a dry shampoo that's almost like powder. I also have the same problem and I've been washing my hair daily but I make sure I use a shampoo and conditioner that's actually good for everyday use, if you're interested in that I use Not Your Mother's Way To Grow-- both the shampoo and conditioner.

Dry shampoo is really good! also if you brush your hair a lot it gets greasy...you can try back combing your roots for volume, hope this helps

Its not good to wash your hair too much as it takes the natural oils which are good for it, also if you don't wash you hair for a couple days your scalp should get used to it, so you should be able to go longer without it getting greasy.

Yea it takes a while and it will be gross at first but if your try washing your hair less it should in theory get better. Shampoo strips your hair of natural oils so your head over compensates which is why it gets greasy, try using argan oil as well as conditioner and rub it in to your scalp too. I only wash my hair once or twice a week and it never gets greasy, its quite strange!! Some people I know think its gross when I tell them I only wash my hair once a week but then I think, I'm not going to wash my hair more just for the sake of it! Its time consuming!

A good dry shampoo or baby powder.

I agree with Tilly! When you wash your hair too often, your scalp starts freaking out and producing more and more oils to compensate for the loss. Here is how you can 'train' your hair:
In an empty plastic bottle, mix one cup water with 1 tablespoon of baking soda. (You can also add one or two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar for extra cleaning - don't worry, your hair won't smell!)
When you're in the shower, rinse your hair with this mixture and follow up with your normal conditioner. The next night when you get in the shower, rinse your hair and massage your roots as if you're shampooing your hair. Do this every night for the next 3-4 days. Then you can shampoo and condition as you normally would, but again, rinse your hair over the next few days in place of using shampoo & every other day. After a few short weeks, your body will get used to it and you will no longer need to rinse between washes.
To hide your greasy roots for the first few weeks:
-Use dry shampoo
-Tease your roots for volume
-Play around with different braids and buns
-Wear headbands, hats, and bandanas

When I first started training my hair I was really self-conscious about it, but the truth is...no one cares! Unless it looks downright disgusting (which it won't, I promise!), no one will really care or notice.

Hope this helps :)

Thanks for the advice , the only reason I wash it every other day is because it looks greasy , I would wash it if it didn't, and I try dry shampoos but they leave some white flakes in your hair and well it doesn't feel that nice not like clean hair if you no what I mean

My hair was the exact same - that's why you have to 'train' it. The baking soda mixture is a DIY clarifying rinse to get the process started. Rinsing in between washes is not necessary but it will help make your hair look not-as-gross! After a few weeks of only washing it every 3-4 days it will start looking normal again. It always gets worse before it gets better, so that in-between period of living with greasy hair is hard, but it will definitely be worth it in the end. You can try baby powder in your hair - If you blend it well it won't leave any visible flakes or residue.
