Freelance means you're on call for a brand/ company- meaning they call you in for promotional work, campaigns or fashion shows.
Some people use the term freelance when they're talking about clients like for bridal. That's actually an independent contractor- not a commonly used term, it just means you work for yourself.
I recommend a good Skincare system that can be used by most skin types, I aim for sensitive skin formulas.
A range of foundations and concealers
I good neutral shadow palette and some common bright colors ( purples, blues, greens, oranges ad reds)
Neutral blush palette
And a lipstick palette
Of course invest in a great brush set- sigma, Mac etc.And be prepared to buy an infinite amount disposables- qtips, cotton pads, mascara wands etc.
Then for hygiene:
70-99% alcohol
Water
Hand sanitizer
Makeup remover
And a tool for setting up your station
Hope I helped :)
