Yes it can, it can clog the pores and break you out. When I used to do coconut oil I'd always break out around my hair line until I started wearing a shower cap so nothing dripped.

Acne is hormonal. I don't think any oil causes it. pimples around the hair line can be about the oils on your scalp and sweat.

It stopped after I stopped using coconut oil ^ Acne is not only hormonal, it can also be caused by clogged pores. That's why some makeup breaks you oil and so do other face products etc. I'd say just be careful if you're using it on your hair and wipe off around the hairline with a baby wipe.
