Okay so I have combination skin. Lately though I have been getting dry skin patches on the areas that get oily. Even when using a moisturizer...By the end of the day those patches are oily. But in the morning it looks soo gross when I put foundation on like nasty dry face... that I run to the bathroom and exfoliate my whole face. Its been bugging me!!
Has this happened to anyone else?
What could I possibly do to help this.?

Your skin gets oily because it's trying to keep it moisturized, ( I think that was confusing lol) anyways I never had that before something like a rash maybe? Trying moisturizing without chemicals, and moisturize whenever you can. At night, pin your hair away from your face and cake coconut oil on it, in the morning use a facial cleanser and put lotion on. If you can, during school put a light lotion on. Otherwise, you might just have to wait it out. And it might not be good to exfoliate every day, your skin needs time to make new skin cells. If this goes on for a while, you should ask a doctor or something. I dk if this will work or not.

Your skin can be oily and dry at the same time ,something in your skincare routine is to harsh for your skin and throwing your ph balance off try using a cream cleanser followed by a alcohol free toner then a oil free moisturizer do not let your skin dry out and get that tight feeling before you apply your moisturizer do it right away and do not over cleanse twice a day is enough.

Moisturize after you cleanse. Your skin is trying to compensate the dryness by producing oil, which will give you some oily and some dry patches. I really like the clean and clear dual action moisturizer because it is oil free yet moisturizing. Around $6-$7 depending on where you live. One bottle lasts me 9 months

Try apply your moisturizer to damp skin. It'll allow you to only put a small amount on your face and your skin won't become dry.

Don't exfoliate everyday ( as it could be causing some excessive oilyness) and get a water based moisturizer.

Whst products are you using now? Has this started during a season change? Does your skin ever become red and itch in the oily/peeling areas?
