I think if you have a summer tan you should skip contouring and highlight, it'll look beautiful with the tan and by being highlighted helps you look naturally contoured. For more coverage you could use a bb cream, or even a bit of powder, if you don't want to use lots of product on your skin I suggest getting a concealer and spot treatment in one, Almay has a good one. You apply the treatment and then conceal over it, blend the edges really well and use a small fluffy brush , an eyeshadow one will do to dab a bit of powder where you concealed to set it

Hi I would suggest getting a darker light coverage foundation or bb cream. The powders you're putting on need something to stick to.
As for you highlighting and contour, I would definitely do both. You need to contour to give your face some dimension and you need to highlight to have areas on your face such as cheek bone, nose bridge, brow bone, cuspids bow, center of forehead, and chin to glow. Not too much though.
How are you taking care if your acne?
More coverage without a foundation will probably be a tinted moisturizer and/or bb cream.

Amanda, to contour you can use different products like different colored foundation, powders, and concealers. I personally contour with concealer. I use a shade that is 2 shades darker. Bronzers are great to contour with.
As for highlighting its the same but instead of applying bronzer you apply a highlighter. You can also highlight with various products. Like powders (for a more matte finish), liquid highlighter which comes in lil tubes you can squeeze (a little goes a long way).

It's very shimmery which is why a little product goes a long way.

Hopefully that helps.

Nothing is a must. Do what you're comfortable and happy with. If you prefer not to highlight then you don't have to at all. But if you wanted to, how about just using a concealer under your eyes in a triangle (you can see what I mean in any highlighting and contouring tutorials if you don't already know) in a couple of shades lighter than your skin? That will give you the slightly higher coverage that you want plus it will also highlight at the same time :)

Have you tried proactive?

Maybe the makeup you're using. I know a girl who can't wear that has mineral oil I think because it makes her break out bad.
