How often do you wash your brushes?

I was just wondering how often you guys wash your personal makeup brushes? I only apply make up with my brushes maybe 3 times a week and try to clean my foundation brushes every couple of weeks but will often leave my eyeshadow/liner brushes for a few months. Is this gross?! How often should I be cleaning them?

I aash my eye brushes almost every time I use them just because that is a delicate area and I don't want to open myself up for any kind of infection from the bacteria on my brushes and I use my face brushes 2 or 3 times before washing as I have acne prone skin so clean brushes help with no break outs for me.

I do my brushes once a week longest ever 2 weeks and usually just a a quick back and forth after every use on a baby wipe to get some of the color off.

After 3 or 4 uses unless I feel it needs washed sooner (I wash my liner brush after every use so the brush is soft next time I use it and if I use a bright eyeshadow so it doesn't affect other colors.)
