Teasing doesn't work?

Anyone else have this problem? I tease but it doesn't stay. I feel like I am vigorous enough but I don't want to kill my hair either. I have tried with a teasing comb and just a fine tooth comb.

You know what I've been doing to give my roots some volume is I'll apply mousse at the roots and blow dry the hair upward around the crown of my head. It gives it body and a bit of height. This article has great tips for adding volume to your hair: http://www.beautylish.com/a/vcgzq/how-to-volumize-hair

before you tease, spray the chunk of hair you're teasing up and down for three seconds, and then tease the chunk for ten seconds. That's how i tease mine and it's never fallen or flattened on me, and I wear my hair my hair GIGANTIC. Just use A LOT of hairspray (a flexible hold one so it doesn't harden or look chunky)

You could also, like Jasmine said, blow dry your roots with mousse to get initial volume before you tease (:

tease you hair is small sections...lift up each section , tease lightly then spritz with hairspray...( then lay down that section , and repeat all over your head) the hairspray holds the tease together...so just spray each section and i promise it stays all day...

Thanks ladies. Sometimes I wonder if I am just brushing it out when I am trying to smooth the outside or messing with it too much. I will give it a go!

What are you teasing with? I had the hardest time teasing with a "teasing comb" and my friend showed me how to do it easily with a small wooden brush with lots of bristles and I was finally able to tease it! Also, what helped me was focusing on holding my hair up and brushing it down until all of the hair fell down. Hard to explain but hoped it helped! =]

I have used a teasing comb but I think the fine tooth comb worked better. I thought about buying one of those teasing brushes.

Your hair might be too clean. Try using a dry shampoo at the root or spraying hair srapy at the root then bsck combing.

If your hair is too soft/good condition, or too clean, it will just fall out so the best way is to either have greasy hair, put talc/dry shampoo in, or just hairspray to give it a bit of hold, and then hold up a strip of hair at a time, and do a 'c' motion with your comb and it should work fine :) -Nikki

Like they said! ^ (:

Osis Hair Powder. Works WONDERS. My hair won't tease either. I'm serious. Try this stuff! It's extremely drying though... so be sure to deep condition!
