It seems like the majority here has oily skin. That's not my case. Does anyone have any suggestions for foundations for extremely dry skin?? It's so bad I moisturize at night with eucerin.

I have extremely dry skin and like Tarte foundations, Revlon Whipped Colorstay, Kat Von D Lock it foundation, Givenchy Photo Perfection, Smashbox CC Cream, Maybelline Dream Mousse in the compact and Hourglass.

I have dry, flaky, peeling skin that's drier than you can possibly imagine. At this stage my options for face coverage are extremely limited because most foundations exacerbate the dryness and make me look terrible. I start by applying Tarte's Maracuja oil (3-4 drops) all over my face, in a patting (not running) motion, and give it a few minutes to sink in. Then I cover my face with my daily moisturizer/sunscreen of choice (usually CeraVe A.M.). I will then use one out of the following 3 as foundation: NARS Sheer Glow, Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream, or Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo foundation. Of these, the BB cream is the only one I can apply to my skin unadulterated. The other 2 I mix with a combo of a few drops of Maracuja oil and Éclat Miracle from Lancôme (they cling to every dry patch and flake if I don't mix). I have post-menopausal skin, and it's been a nightmare adjusting my makeup routine after menopause (surgical menopause). I also take extra care to exfoliate regularly: that will make a HUGE difference for dry skin.
There's probably a lot of other great foundations for dry skin, but to be honest I'm so pale that I haven't been able to find many that work for me. And I should add that the Kat Von D foundation is a nightmare for dry skin: I can only use it on days when I've done a deep moisture mask, and even then I have to cut the foundation with a LOT of oil.
