In the past week my skin has been very sensitive, itchy and dry, and by dry, I MEAN REALLY DRY. I have thick dry patches going around my mouth, up and around my nostrils and also between my brows. (pretty much my entire T-zone) I've tried everything. I stopped wearing makeup, to let my skin breathe. Started taking Biotin, I've exfoliated. And I've used loads of super hydrating moisturizer and nothing helps! I can't seem to remove the patches from my face! The skin flakes off but it seems as if there are layers and layers of it, so no matter how much I scrub and moisturize, its never quite enough. And it came out of nowhere. I live in Georgia, which in the summer is a very humid climate. I can't understand how or why this happened. Even in the colder months my face didn't dry up like this! my skin care, makeup products and diet hasn't changed either. It hurts to move my face, and It's itchy and burns sometimes. I can't afford to go to a dermatologist but at the same time, I don't want to deal with this any longer. Its annoying and I don't even want to leave the house... Any tips/advice... REALLY ANYTHING would be greatly appreciated. :(

Stop exfoliating so much, once a week, ponds cold cream with the green lid is very cheap and moisturizes like no other! For the next few days instead of cleanser use olive oil. Massage the oil onto your skin for a minute and pat off with a cloth as hot as you can stand. Moisturize with the cold cream or a vitamin e lotion. If this doesn't help I would go to your local pharmacy and ask for product suggestions for psoriasis. The olive oil method helped me a lot and got rid of my flakiness.
I feel that you may just be exfoliating to much and making it worse so I strongly suggest stopping for a while!
I'm learning facials in school right now and this is what I feel is best!

If you do use the cold cream, stop once your skin stops peeling, it has mineral oils in it and isn't the best for long term use, just when needed or as a make up remover before washing your face when you get things back to normal

I'm a Mary Kay consultant and we have a microdermabrasion. A lot of salons do it but its more money and you have to go a few times from what I hear. There's also extremely hydrating creams and the products are used for sensitive skin. If you have a consultant I would talk to her. If you don't I'd gladly look into in more and give you my email if you want!

Organic Cold Pressed Extra Virgin Coconut Oil. If that doesn't work, I'd consult a derm. You may want to take a Benadryl if you suspect an allergic reaction of some sort.

I agree with Trevor, you could have psoriasis or eczema so using all the products you are and as frequently is making it worse. Find a reputable aesthetician in your area, its cheaper to go to them than a dermatologist but youll get an accurate skin evaluation.
