To line looks really straight you should place your index finger in the outer corner of your eye tilted towards use that as a guide :) & try to make it less thicker more pigmented tho!

I use liguid liner and I use I use it really close to the eyelash line and it helps.

You could apply it very close to the lash line. You could start half way in and work your way out. That's how I usally do it. There's pleanty of vids on youtube :)

Take a pencil liner and make a thin line on your upper lash line and go over it with gel eyeliner
