how long does it take you to do your nails--base, color, top, &/or decorations--from start to finish (fully dry!)?? what do you do while you wait for it to dry? i am always smudging and am slightly impatient. :x

It takes me about 45min-1 hour. Sometimes I'll take off my nail polish the night before and file them, and then put the polish on the next day. If I don't have a movie on or something to watch I'll definitely end up smudging them! I don't usually put on nail polish when I'm in a hurry because then it's almost inevitable that it will smudge. So I usually do it when I have time on my hands, and think of it as a more relaxing, therapeutic time for myself, lol. I don't know what it is but there's something really relaxing about doing your nails. Usually it doesn't take too long for the polish to dry. I find that 2 thinner coats will dry a lot faster than 1 thick coat. For a top coat I use Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top Coat (in the red bottle). It literally dries your nail polish in 30 seconds (to the touch). It's pretty awesome. I usually do my nails around 7-8pm, after dinner/school/work is done and I have nothing to do until the next morning.

With active 3 year old and a dog that loves licking my hands when I pull out the polish it goes like this for me....
Day 1: basecoat
Day 2: color
Day 3: another layer of color
Day 4: topcoat followed by quick dry
A 4 day event allows me to have smudge free/dented nails. lol

It depends on if I'm doing acrylics or just polishing my natural nails. In btwn the waiting time I usually try to watch a movie. I use a fast drying top coat so that my nails can dry quickly in case I'm in a hurry.

If I'm not doing any designs and I keep it to mainly just solid color it takes me around an hour and that includes putting on fake nails. But sometimes I'll get so fancy it can take me around 3 hours.

about...30 min. to an hour depending on what design/colors im using since some polishes take forever to dry...and if i happen to touch ANYTHING its a do-over :]

if you include the time i spend staring at my nail polish deciding what colors to use, about 2-3 hours. lol no joke. but anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour, depending on the formula of the polish. seche vite is my BFF & i tend to walk after doing my nails (seriously, probably the best thing you can do after doing your nails, no?)

I usually spend 3 hours if I do something more complicated! I'll usually watch tv while I do them! :)
