What is your opinion about looks using only one shade over the entire lid? Like, one color, a highlight color, and liner. Simple and elegant? Or lazy?
Personally I always use between 3-5 eyeshadows in a single look!

I think it's simple. You may not have time to do more than one color on your eye, but you still want to wear something on your eye. I wouldn't exactly call it "lazy" since a little effort is being done. I personally do about the same amount of colors in a single look like you do, but there are also days I just want to be very minimal and just use one color on my eye.

i do it when I'm lazy :P but i don't take it that way i like it as long as its a neutral shade i don't like when people put colors all over their lid

I think it can look really nice. I agree with Latia that it really isn't lazy because you could always just skip makeup.

There's NOTHING wrong with this! I did it a few days ago and it looked fine. Usually I use 3-5 shadows in a single look, like you, but it's summer! Who cares? If it looks nice, it looks nice.

I rarely do it. There's nothing wrong with it but I don't think it's anything spectacular.

This post just now made me realize that I use 3-4 shadows on a day-to-day. Before, when I was just starting out, I was doing good to get on 2, but now I find myself adding more shadows not even more color per-say, just more dynamics. But I don't see anything wrong with using one, especially if you're low on time...

I almost always just use one color all over the lid... I think it looks nice, simple, & clean. And it's a quick, easy look to do.

I do this every once in a while, especially when using a vibrant, bright color. I think it can look very elegant and sharp. Especially when paired with think, slightly winged liner and big lashes.

I tried it out today, used one bold color 'Mochi from Sugarpill' winged liner, and traced the top of the shadow line with a silver eyeliner. Wasn't too bad, but it was hard to get used to!
I don't HATE the look, just wondering others opinions on it!

I do it sometimes. I use a neutral and do a little liner with big lashes. Or on days I want the natural look I put a cream color on and mascara with a little peach blush.

I do it all the time. I'll use a bright color and blend it out with a brown closest to my skin tone. I love it because its bold but subtle at the same time.

I usually use 3-5 shadows but naked lunch is a pretty versitale color and could prob use just that w some winged liner.

I do it if I want a more natural look. Otherwise, I don't think you can blend well enough using only one color. And those who don't blend, should have all their make up taken away.

I couldnt agree more! :-)

I've been using a shimmery very neutral pink shade all over my lid for a long time (from Avon's Mocha Latte quad). Also, I've been using Dark Horse (UD) as eyeliner when I don't have time for anything; when I can focus on an impeccable winged eyeliner, there is barely any time left so i just spice it up with a thin line of bright eyeshadow right above the black. And of course, practicing my blending by making one color look two (I usually cheat by using a bit of translucent powder though...)
