So I recently found out I have vitiligo and as I've got more of a tan, it's become really obvious. This is really affecting my confidence :( do any of you girls have it, and if so how do you deal with it? I'm really struggling. Thanks in advance

I do not have it, but I did some research!
Where do you have patches?
You could try blending with makeup if you dislike it a lot.
Don't worry about it dear!

On my kids father side of the family that is their birth mark. I'll post a pic of my daughter. I grew up with most his family and we just grew use to it.

Sally hanson has this like spray on
" Airbrushed legs" stuff. Kim Kardashian uses it to hide her psoriasis. You can get it at target, walmart etc.

Actually, I think it is really pretty! It is amazing how the patterns are unique to every person and change over time. As long as it isn't part of another illness (thyroid issues, autoimmune disease), that is. Hopefully for you that isn't the case!
Don't feel self-conscious about it. If you aren't keen on it, avoid tanning any further, as it will only get more pronounced. Makeup can hide it if it is small, but that can be difficult and time consuming. Good luck hon!

I was initially diagnosed with vitilago but later turned out to be another condition which also causes depigmentation so I know how you feel. I do agree that try not to feel self concious but can also appreciate this can be hard and my confidence was initially affected too. In my case I have been told it should self resolve within a year but during which I have been finding ways to cover it etc.
I try to avoid tanning as it won't tan and will look more noticable. Also because of the lack of pigment (melanin) it is not protected from the sun so spf30 is a must to protect from harmful rays. Mine is just on my face so I use a good foundation, I use NARS sheer glow which is good but pricey. I am in the UK so know you can get camoflague make up through NHS dermatologists etc.for free if it really affects your confidence etc.
in terms of long term when I was told it was vitalago I looked into creams etc.to help restore pigment. there were a few that claimed to help reduce the effects but I was quite dubvious so I would consult a dermatologist/gp and see what they think. I hope this helps hun and try not too stress about it x
