Both of my parents have dry wavy hair, dandruff and scalp issues, which all I inherited and my sister got the healthy straight-slightly wavy hair. I'm living in Malaysia where the weather is extremely hot or raining cats and dogs. I've managed the dandruff and scalp issues by shampooing everyday because if I don't they're going to haunt me, sigh.
Currently my hair routine is protein hair mask for scalp and hair (pre shampoo), protein shampoo for coloured hair, avocado treatment which I use to substitute for conditioner (all hairstylist told me to use hair masks as my conditioner because my hair is that dry) and leave in serum after shampoos. They are helping but just a bit, I still have frizzy hair though I air dry my hair.
I want to know is there any chance for my hair to get as healthy as everybody else without doing drastic things like rebonding/permanently straightening. I would love love to embrace my natural waves but it's just not right to have long dried unhealthy hair.
help? :) xoox

I dont know if this will do much for you considering the climate, but I used to live next to a lake where instead of it being cool it was humid 100% of the time. I use John Frieda's line of Frizz-Ease products. There's tons of products aimed just for anti-frizz AND repair at the same time! Hope this helps you :)

I'm so sorry to hear about your hair woes! I find it interesting that you live in such a humid climate and still manage to have dry hair...
I'm no expert, but maybe shampooing everyday is actually drying your hair out more. Have you tried that whole "no shampoo" method of washing? You basically massage your hair as you would with shampoo, but your hair's natural oils are supposed to do the work. Which I don't know if that'll help much, seeing as you have dry hair... but it's worth a shot.
I use the Macadamia Oil Deep Conditioning Masque for my dryness because I get flakes in the winter and I LOVE it. Maybe try that? I wish I could be of better help!

I agree with Lacey. Shampooing everyday definitely isn't good for dry hair. You should try co-washing daily and then shampooing like once a week. Co-washing is basically washing your hair but using conditioner as your shampoo.

You could also be using too much protein too

unfortunately not many good hair products are available in Malaysia and I don't have enough money to buy them off ebay. I'm giving co-shampoo a test, I hope it works. I had to shampoo everyday because my scalp gets too itchy till I can't sleep :(
Thanks for the suggestions girls!
