How to get purple hair??

Has anyone successfully colored their hair a dark purple? What product should I use? Color names and mixtures? Any suggestions? PLEASE HELP!!?? No one EVER responds to my hair color questions! Thank you! :)

Well, mine looks pretty good, I don't know if its the color your looking for. I used splat, but it was suuuuuuper hard to get off of my skin, I still have hints of purple on me and its been almost a week. I would go with a semi permanent so you know it'll come out if you don't like the way it looks, I've never tried any but I've heard sallys has good brands.

I've tried everything (/.\) the only thing that really helped were hair dye wipes from sallys but after a while they started to burn. I was going to put Vaseline but I didn't think I was going to be so messy lol.

I've gone to my salon a few times to have it done. My hair is naturally dark brown, so I had some highlights bleached in first. My stylist then used pravana color silk in violet over my whole head. It looks amazing when I first get it done, but it fades so quickly and is very messy, everyone I washed my hair it stained the back of my neck/hands. Personally it's not worth the money so next time I'm going to skip the pravana and get some special fx or manic panic and do it myself. I have a pic in my profile that shows what it looks like when I get it done at the salon.
