Which one works better to treat acne as well as fade acne marks?! Please help!

I think it depends on the persons skin. They both work, just need to try them out and find out what works for you. I like the clearisil daily cleansing pads, pretty sure they're salysitic acid.

Benzoyl peroxide is usually harsher, so it's best for those who suffer with a more than mild case of acne.

It dependa on everyones skin. salicylic works more on the deeper epidermis like blackheads and stuff like that benzoyl works better for active pimples because it drys thems out.

Salicyclic wrks on oily skin, glycolic on dry... no idea about benzoyl peroxide...

It depends!
Generally you'll hear the benzoyl is harsher, but it's the opposite with my skin type.
I can't even use products with salicylic acid in it because it irritates my skin so bad and dries me out and I get breakouts. Benzoyl peroxide hardly ever dries out my skin as long as I use my moisturizer once a day. It just depends on skin type! My advice would be to try both and see what works for you.
I have combo oily skin by the way.

I personally use and like Proactiv. I am a few months away from 40 years old and I developed adult onset acne at the age of 24! I immediately started using Proactiv at the advise of a friend and it has worked perfectly ( for me) recently I was running low on the Proactiv and tried a sample of the Clinique salicylic acid was 3 piece system that I receive from sephora and it wasn't a good match for my skin. Benzoyl is more harsh and also it does depend on your skin, the product ( in my opinion), and the exact severity of what needs to be treated. Again, his is from my point of view. Also, I have found that since acne is not curable there are most individuals, myself included, that have never stopped taking it because of problems. I do hope everything works out wonderfully for you :)

I'm allergic to the salicylic acid so I have to use benzoyl peroxide and I have dry skin. if you can't afford the proactive, walmart has a generic proactive brand that works just as good and is exactly the same as proactive.

I'm allergic to both but I am highly allergic to benzoyl peroxide. I seriously recommend you don't use it even if you don't react to it. It's sooo bad for your skin. What did it for me was when my boyfriend spilt a drop of benzoyl peroxide on his carpet and wiped it up right away, it it literally bleached and removed part of the carpet. Imagine what it does to your skin.

For the girls allergic to the salicylic acid, is it just a skin allergy or a total allergy? do you have any problems with any other salicylic acid products like asprin or the shampoos with it?

I have tried proactive but all it did was made my skin dry, flaky, peeling and horrible no matter what moisturizer I used, do you girls think maybe I should try salicylic acid then? Does proactive use the benzol peroxide?

And my derm prescribed me epiduo and I have tried it but I feel Ike it is too harsh for my skin.

@Bekah I really don't know I avoid anything with it in it. And I'm pretty much allergic to all shampoo's other than Aveeno.
