I got my nose pierced when I was about 14-15, I had it with the stud for about a year and I had so many problems with thestud. It kept getting caught on stuff and pulled out, it never healed properly, i got a gross bubble pimple thing and it fell out during the night. It was just the pits.
But when I was 17-18 I got my nose repierced with a stud, then after 2 weeks I put the ring in (its better to do it that way if you want the ring) and I've had no problems with it at all (I'm now 20)
I absolutely love having the ring, its so much nicer than the stud.
Its my favourite piercing now :)
Oh and mine took about 2 months to completely heal and not be sore if it got caught.
I barely ever cleaned it, i think i put warm salt water on it every other day with a cotton bud and sometimes I'd put some metho on it after a shower (which does dry it out a bit)

Thanks everyone for the advice! I heard that about the hoop but I like the stud better. And I can't have the hoop because I play soccer and work in an office :/

Yes the tea tree oil is a natural cleanser. No need to dilute it. Just drop about 3 drops on a qtip and dab it on the piercing. It will dry the skin but its the best thing and will minimize chance of potential infections. Good luck!

Mine took about a month to heal and I've had it for about 5 years now. I can leave it out for abou5 2 days before it starts to grow back. If you get it done try to get one that curls inside ( you have to twist it to put it in and take it out) instead of a straight one, because your nose has wet cartlage it can close within an hour. You definitely don't want the straight one to fall out while your sleeping and it close over night!

I had one and loved it. But my nose pours oil basically so I had a little bump next to it, and it was so annoying so I took it out ):

Thanks guys! I'm telling you my biggest fear is the bubble. It's just so much work to take care of.
