Hi I'm a dancer and a cheerleader and I was wondering If you had any tips for competition makeup?

For dance, what they really look for is stage makeup, meaning contouring like its going out of style! Use a full coverage foundation, fill in your brows, use falsies if possible, and have some fun with eyeshadow, and don't forget liner! And of course, use bronzer and highlight. Often times if you're competing at a dance competition with a studio, the studio will dictate the makeup so everyone looks uniform. Good much!:)

I don't dance or cheer, but I am an actor in a haunted house as well as in musical theatre, and we always use a primer and a setting spray to keep our makeup from melting off. We tend to slightly over-draw our brows, eyes, and lips since stage lights wash out your features and its hard to see from a distance. Since you're most likely not under intense lights, a smokey eye and normal brows and a smidge of lipstick or gloss should be fine. Make sure your mascara is waterproof or it may bleed into your eyes as you sweat. If you're performing outside, make sure you wear sunscreen underneath your makeup. I can't think of anything else off the top of my head, but if you have any questions feel free to ask.

I danced and for competitions we would do foundation, black eyeliner, a burgandy brown and cream smokey eye (my studio picked out our eyeshadow), fake eyelashes, lots of blush and dark red lipstick!

About twice as heavy as normal! I am a figure skater and when in competitions, the ice washes you out. So make sure everything is dark enough so that in the spotlight it will still be visible to the judges.

What kind of dance you are dancing?
