It's supposed to lift your eyelid, here is a before and after picture I found.I think it's pretty neat.

You place the tape on your crease or you could use the eyelid glue and put that on your crease and it pulls your lid to give you a more defined look.

Alma, try using clear eyelash glue first, it does work, but you have to get the process down and work with it a few times.

I like your eyes, Adrienne! You don't look freaky, but mysterious!

@Todd I did try the lash glue before after looking at the eye lid glue and it failed lol but it was the white lash glue so I will try the clear glue next thanks  :-)

Thanks Rebella ;) but it is such a challange to apply eyeshadow...we all have our things I guess.
Alma, why do you think you need these? Your eyelids look defined already.

I've also been so curious about eye lid tape Alma! I have hooded eyelids and this appears to be the perfect solution!

Alma, what brand did you use? I tried it with I Envy by Kiss 16hr strip lash adhesive in clear and it totally worked. I took one of the pointed q tips by Nail Tees and "painted" a line of glue above the crease, then pushed the eyebrow down onto the glued part and held for thirty seconds or so, then when you release the brow, it lifts that skin up and reveals more lid. How much is obviously dependent on how much "slack" skin is there. It works and stays - but I wouldn't go doing eyebrow aerobics afterwards. It takes some practice, but is a cool effect.

Now the reason I even tried it out was not for myself, but because I'm going to be doing this total transformation of a Filipino guy into this wide eyed anime character and want to pull out all the stops and render him unrecognizable in every way possible. Don't get those strips, they get horrible reviews! Everyone says you can see the tape when you close your eyes. My method is totally undetectable if done right. Obviously do this on clean lids and apply shadow afterwards. This doesn't even feel that weird once you get used to it.

@Todd it was Ardell lash glue.I'm going to give your recommendation a try because the one I tried made me look like I had golden girl eye lids shady pines all the way lol wrinkled my lids wasn't smooth at all.where can I purchase the glue you use? Thank you so much for your info and I think it's awesome that will be transforming someone looks into a anime character I can't wait to see that you have to share a pic.I love changing looks all the time it's nice to bring ideas to life.

@Adrienne it's the illusion of makeup lol @Eileen same here I need a fix for my hoods that are up to no good lol @Jacqueline thank you for your info I'm just going to try the clear and practice it until I get it.I need to accomplish it.That's a bummer that the tape shows, what about the lash glue? Can you still apply eyes shadow?

May 15, 2013

Todd S.

Yes, you can apply shadow afterwards, but realize that any slight residue of glue outside of the area you tucked in will grab pigment, so you might need to clean up slightly with a nail-tee with eye makeup remover first. Just don't undue your tuck job in the process. Look straight forward and then clean up if necessary. Once you've gotten the whole process down, you won't need to clean anything up, but I would build the shadow up slowly. Keep in mind that although my and Jacqueline's method will be effective and undetectable, it won't give you the sudden "upper blepheroplasty" look it gives when the eyes are closed as it gives when the eyes are open as the skin will pull down with the closing of your eyes. It won't look weird, but it doesn't give you all the lid space that can look amazing on closed lids that are naturally or surgically prominent. When eyes are closed you will have about the same amount of lid space as you did before (at least I did, and I'm the only person I've tried this on thus far). Hope I'm making sense here, you will understand what I mean when you do it. So basically, shadow must be carefully executed.
