I have ridiculously oily skin and it's slowly driving me insane! No matter what I use - matte foundations, primer, setting spray and powder! I still look like an oil slick 1-2 hours after applying my make up. It's getting Wintery here in New Zealand and my skin does not dry out during the colder months. I have an extremely busy month ahead of me and I would really like to get my oil under control so I'm not touching up all ther time when I'm out /:
These are the products I'm using at the moment:
Simple cleanser
Simple Toner
Simple light moisturizer
Revlon Photoready primer
A mixture of foundations - it changes from day to day: Bourjous healthy mix, Rimmel Stay Matte, Rimmel 25 Hour, Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder
NYX Matte setting spray
I'm not having much luck with any of these products.
I'd prefer recommendations from the drugstore as I'm tight on money atm.
I also have sensitive skin and can not use anything with alcohol or fragrance in it - pain in the ass I know hah.
Thank you in advance lovelies! ♥

Try using blotting paper during those shiny moments. I end up using toilet paper at school for it

I use tissues to blot atm but I've been meaning to buy some actual blotting sheets, thanks (:

Apparently Milk of Magnesium can be used as a base under make-up or as a face wash. It controls oil and is supposed to help reduce the amount of sebum the skin produces. You can buy it from health stores or pharmacies. :)

Milk of magnesia has bad long term effects.

I'll look into the Milk of Magnesia but I don't think I can actually get it here in NZ and I'd want to know about risks/effects as Jennifer stated (:

I've hear others rave about using it- I personally haven't used it, so I can't really tell you the effects of it.

Try using a face wash for oily skin like cetaphil or neutrogena. I think you can also try switching your toner and use oraganic rose water for toning instead and a gel based mpisturizer. Sometimes overuse of mattifying products makes the oil glands (sebum) produce more oil...You can also try the Clean and Clear oil absorbing sheets they cost around $5. And ya Sarah is right vitamin A foods or supplements can actually control oil production...hope this helps :)

Milk of magnesia really does help, but I don't like how foundation looks on top of it...

Use a stronger cleanser or toner (Clean start, Cetaphil, Tea Tree oil range from the Body Shop, etc). And like Sarah said, blotting paper!

You can try making some of your own skincare products. For example, I make my own toner from witch hazel, apple cider vinegar, drops of tea tree oil and water and my skin is reacting very well to it. Extremely affordable as well. There are tons of videos on YouTube for this, so I'd suggest looking into that :)

Use Cetaphil every morning and every night. it woke up my face after like a week, or less! I have oily skin too and it can help A LOT. Try Cetaphil!

I use African black soap to wash my face - my skin is also very oily and I had the same problems you've explained, but now that I've started using African black soap, my skin is noticeably less oily. I moisturize with a mix of unrefined coconut oil, unrefined Shea butter and grapeseed oil that I mix together myself at home. During the day I moisturize with L'Oréal Triple Active Day moisturizer:) you can buy all the African black soap and oils on amazon and eBay:)

Ps. I only use the oil mix to moisturize at night:)

Quinoderm!
It's meant to be for spots so I use it for that but it also dries your skin out

Use something to dry up your face like proactiv even though you don't have pimples, it dries out your face, then apply an oil free moisturizer and then put your make up.

Milk of magnesia is the best thing you could do for oily skin. I have very very oily skin and in about an hour after applying my makeup I start to get really oily. I started to apply milk of magnesia on my face and then a matte powder and my face doesn't get oily. I'm telling you that milk of magnesia is the best thing you can do.
