A couple years ago I developed a dark skin pigment above my lips & it looks like a light mustache! I went to my dermatologist & he suggested a skin lightening cream. He also stated it was a normal & with me getting older it sometimes develops because of horomes. Well, I have tried many different lighteners & I am not satisfied with the results! Help! Any suggestions? I'm desperate!

I'd consult an aestheticism. I had some discoloration on my cheeks and they vanished with a light peel.

Make sure the spa has a licensed Esty and read reviews on Yelp to do some research. My derm is in full support of peels and so I'm surprised he didn't provide you with more options. Best of luck to you!

Most likely melasma/ cholasma. It can be very finicky! Lightening creams like Tri-luma in combination with some laser treatments and/or peels can really help to break up this pigmentation.
