I have several tattoos (and adding, I love having them showing but sadly the world still isn't completely accepting of them leading to certain circumstances where they must be covered. It is nearly impossible to find a job in state where I live with tattoos. So my question is, what is a good, CHEAP makeup/product I can use to cover them up. I have seen some (like Kat Von D), but with them all (that I've seen) being $25+, that doesn't work very well for me. Thanks in advance.

My teacher at school yesterday said that the thin lizzy concealer is really good to cover tattoos that's cheap otherwise demablend but that's about 80 bucks

I have the hard candy stuff and it is stick and rubs off on your clothes. it didnt fully cover my black or red :( the browns and blues were easier. I have sone on my left arm all upp abd down and I also have to cover them up. I have been looking online at tattoo sleeves like the arm bands. they arnt too expensive. they come in white tan and black. black looks like an athletic sleeve. having to cover them to seem responsible and business like sucks. I am a harder worker and a smarter worker then a lot of my collegues, but I place second a lot because of damn expression. :(

Hard Candy glamoflage is great!! It's around 5-8 dollars and is available at Walmart.

It's also a dupe for the Kat Von D one too.

Dermablend and kat von d...I know how you feel I work in the medical field and all have to be covered even the one on my finger..

I tried the Hard Candy Glamoflague and it wouldn't cover my black and grey tattoo. Dermablend or Coverfx may be the best bet, but they aren't cheap. :/

Since Hard Candy is cheap I will try that, but from what has been said I don't think it is going to work well, most of my tattoos are just black ink.
Laura, I know exactly what you mean, and it really sucks. Also, I have seen the sleeves and considered trying them, but at the same time I hate having stuff on my arms unless it is freezing, I never wear long sleeves so I feel they will annoy me.

Don't waste your time on the hard candy! I promise! I know I always wear sleveless shirts xD. I think I coild bare it for one arm of freedom! unless you have them on both...then I probably wouldnt. :( good luck though and if you find anything else that works please let me know!!

Thanks. Looking at the individual colors since I would only need it for me, what is the lightest shade like? It looks pretty much white to me. I am super fair, not sure if I should go up to the second lightest. It is showing that there is no where around me that has it.

I'm a fan of dermablend. I do a lot of covering consults...I haven't had an unhappy customer. I'm sorry that price point is an issue but this is one issue where a specialty cover product is key. You can use any translucent powder and white eyeliner but cover Creme is the most pigmented FOUNDATION available with the best shade range. It's $36, but lasts a long time. The only complaint I have with it is application ease because it is so incredibly thick, but it does its job like a dream...

Yeah, I actually came across ben nye for coverup while looking into it yesterday, the closest place that sales it is 4 hours away. Not much luck for me I guess. I hate buying stuff like that for the first time over the internet since I can't compare to my skin easily. I hate to buy the wheel and not use even half of it, but it would also suck to get too light or dark. Thank you so much, going to look into those two farther.

A lot of you are recommending dermablend but it has also been said that it is expensive, how much use do you get out of it. I have one leg from the knee down and one half sleeve, about to start my second leg. If I wear flats or heels I have both feet. That is a lot of area to cover, especially with there being a lot of black ink. Wish they didn't show through tights as well as they do.
Jessica O, I just saw yours. Thanks.

Brittany, Depends on the product you choose. Go for leg cover. You'll get high coverage and it lasts a long time. Cover Creme will be too inconvenient for you covering a large area. Honestly. With that large of an area you're going to struggle getting that much product staying in your range. Not many tattoo cover products run in value size because most people use them for small fixes. At least with leg cover you are using a liquid that is opaque. Even if to get the color you are a little off on skin tone. Then just use drugstore powder to set. Leg cover is $28. Good luck!

If I try the dermablend would you girls recommend doing the primer with it too or is it fine without it?

Alright, thanks. I haven't decided which exactly I am going to try first but it is always good to have backup options. Going to try one of the cheaper routes first. Wasn't sure about the primers since some products work well without just brands will try to sell you anyways for more money in their pockets. Thanks again.
