So I have dry skin.
Makeup steps;
moisturize, tinted moisturizer, foundation, concealer and after applying some powder it looks dried up.

I would recommend skipping the powder...I'm certainly not a make up pro. but going powder free has worked for me (and I also have dry skin).

Skip powder, get an intense moisturizer for nights or dailywear. I've recently bought a moisture serum which is like a step before moisturizer. Mine is by the body shop. There are also oils for skin, I think josie maran does a really good argan oil. Hopd this helped:)

If you like seeing your makeup with a powder, try using Mac's Fix Plus spray. It'll get rid of that dry and cakey powder look instantly. I love this stuff!

But even when skipping the powder. still looks uneven. I think its the powder in bronzer and blush.

Try exfoliating to get rid of any flakiness. You also might want to switch your moisturizer, as it sounds like the one you're using may not be heavy duty enough. Is your foundation formulated for dry skin as well? If not, you may need to switch that too. You can also try adding in some oils into your skin care and makeup routine. I use argan oil on top of my regular moisturizer on areas that need a little something extra and it helps my skin not look so dry while not making me oily or breaking me out.

Make sure you use a heavier moisturizer at night and watch what facial wash you use. that can cause dryness also.

Brandi...I think that might be the problem...I use crabwood oil soap...but it keeps my acne at bay...I have clean skin.. however I do put a lot of petroleum jelly on at nights...but not in mornings..cuz I'm outdoor and don't want sunburn.

EM l I will try your method. I usually use lemon and white sugar...cuz I tan easily.. I live in south America...I hate the sun. lol.

The petroleum. jelly may not be enough it just sits on top layer of skin and itsnot sinking in to moisturi ze.try using more of a gentle facial wash in the day without sulphate and a day moisturizer and at night use your other facial wash to help keep away your acne and follow with a heavier anti aging moisturizer.

I have skin to where I get dry spots and it really has been under control sense I have been using heavier moisturizer at night. also if you can in the morning try not to have your water so hot when washing your face. try using cool water and your skin won't feel so tight which makes it get dry.

Brandi's right, petroleum jelly doesn't actual act as a moisturizer, it just prevents the loss of moisture...you're better off using something with actual moisturizing properties at night. If your skin can handle it, olive oil is great for dryness and you know you're not getting any unwanted ingredients with that. I really like First Aid Beauty for my eczema-prone skin, but also recommend Alba or Simple for les expensive alternatives. I don't think you need to skip the powder, I use powder and with the right one I don't get dry.

If you can try jose maran argon oil from sephora that is pretty nice if you want something in that texture without having to worry about your skin breaking out shoma

I got dry skin as well. I exfoliate once a week. Use aquaphor every night after cleansing and toning. Then morning I use cleansing water, toner, then moisturizer.

But I use missha bb cream. Helps with SPF as well
