Which is a better investment for a professional artist? Buying the individual lipsticks or buying the lipstick palettes?

When you buy pre-made palettes you usually end up with colors that you don't use. I would suggest making your own or purchasing from a place like Inglot were you can customize your palette. Plus it might make it easier to replace colors as needed.

I always go with Inglot just because you can choose the colors you want and base your decision off of what you have the highest demand for - plus when you run out you can always just reorder the one pan you need instead of replacing the whole thing.

I would steer clear from lipsticks and go with mostly lip liners and gloss. I know in NY State OSHA says you can only keep a lipstick for 6 months because the ingredients break down. most glosses have longer staying power (1 year).

The lipstick palette will save you money in the end. It makes it easier so you don't have to carry as much around with you.
