Hey everyone, I usually don't post stuff like this on here, and it's not really self-promotion, but it is a little bit like promoting. I just want to spread the word and this seems like a place to do it.
ADI is a special effects group (Tom Woodruff and Alec Gilles. Their work includes The Thing, Pumpkin Head, Aliens, Alien VS Predator, Zookeeper, Starship Troopers, and more.) who are trying to raise the money to make a 100% practical creature film. No CGI. Just all practical effects. This is a huge, huge step back in the right direction for special effects makeup and the artists who create those effects. CGI is a great tool, but practical effects have become a bit underrated with all the digital hype, and sometimes digital isn't always better.
So please, if you are a special effects artist, or a makeup artist, artist of any kind or even someone who just appreciates art, makeup or film, take a look at their Kickstarter. Donate if you can, and if not just pass it along so that others who may be interested can donate. They are about halfway to their goal and only have 7 days left. As an effects artist I would love to see this movie get done and remind people how great practical, built by hand effects in movies can be. Thanks for reading and thank you for helping spread the word or donating if you choose to do so :)
