I am a recently licensed cosmetologist and I love to do makeup and style hair. I got a job at a barber shop because it seemed like the only opportunity open for me when I was looking for work, but now I feel like I made a wrong choice and don't feel the drive to work there. I mostly have a passion for makeup but I don't know where to start. I have no professional experience and going to school ain't an option right now due to bills for beauty school. I had an interview with Macy's but was denied. So please, any tips or suggestions would help a lot to pursue my career in the beauty industry. Thanks!

Stay at the barber shop and build up clientele. I know you don't feel pushed there but motivate yourself then, push yourself to do better and better each day. Do your makeup great everyday and have cards with your info on it so when you get compliments on your make up, give them your card. Gotta work your way up Hun :) goodluck!

It's always good to kno how to cut hair, so stay at the barber shop and learn as much as you can, but you can also do freelance work for makeup, I juss graduated cosmetology school myself and I start my job in a salon at the end of June as her assistant point is its hard to get your foot in the hair industry and you have so learn all you can, then plan your next move as you go :)
