You should actually start looking now because some dresses take up to 6 months to order and then if ever you need alterations it takes a while too. but have fun with it. good luck:)

Really ash? I had a mermaid gown for my engagement party my default pic and aww I could loose a few? should I loose a few omg why am I nervous lool? aww really jamie congrats on your engagement! gow exciting!! I kinda want a decked out ballgown but I'm scared to loom huge my number one goal is to noy look huge I'm kinda body cautious if that makes sense lol

Well first of all congratulations! And no most people start dress shopping about 5 or 6 months before their wedding so they have time to decide and when they do decide the dress alterer can have plenty of time to to do alterations if needed.

Most wait until about 7-8 months before the wedding. You should know where your ceremony will be, what type of wedding you want, and be pretty much the weight/size you want before seriously shopping. You don't want to buy a ball gown now then end up needing something else because y'all decided on a beach wedding instead.
