Does anyone have problems with (getting) jobs and stereotyping, because of having tattoos? My little sister wants one for her 18th bday. She's darker than me (more Asian looking), and I'm afraid people will look differently at her, and job opportunities will be less. What do you think or experienced?

Well if she's so worried about that stuff get it where it can be covered up.

It depends on her profession of choice, really. Self-expression through tattoos is highly popular and accepted in the creative fields (from personal experience). As tired as this might sound, a tattoo is forever and lasering it off is excruciating. Personally, I love tattoos and have many myself and have never been denied a job for my tattoos but I can see how it can happen, unfortunately. Good luck!

Conservative fields it will pose to be a problem but creative endeavors...non-issue.

She wants it either on her hip/waist or on her whole back. Personally love the big backpieces. She will go in the medical field or in the programming world.

Oh, she'll be perfectly fine because those areas are covered anyway. She can show it off on her downtime.

My wrists are tattood and I've never had an issue at all I've even worked for managers with tattood arms and such.

When I was in the corporate world, yes I had to hide them; so I didn't have some of the ones I do now. Now that I've branched out and I do what I want with my tattoos and my clients love me for it! I have some ladies and gents in their upper 80's who always compliment me on my tattoos, hair color, piercings: however that would never happen being outside of the hair and beauty industry.
