Is coconut oil for your hair? How do you guys use coconut oil?

I'm Indian and I usually use real coconut oil, not the type you might find at a drugstore (though I don't know if there's a big difference in terms of end result). I usually only use it on the bottom half of my hair and leave it in overnight. I have thin hair and find that putting in on my roots and massaging it tends to make my hair super oily no matter how many times I wash it for a few days.

Make sure you get the organic kind, like from a health food store or something. I put it all over my dry hair, root to tip, sleep on it then rinse well the next day. I also use it on my whole body and it helps my eczema and dry skin.

It's the perfect anti-frizz if you just use a tiny bit. Aside from jojoba oil, it's the closest natural oil to sebum (the natural oil your hair/skin produce).
