Basically I have layered hair that is naturally a browny colour, and I REALLY want underside dip dye. Preferably in lilac, but I don't know how to ask my mum!
She has said in the past I can have highlights but I don't fancy them anymore as I am tired of them!
My school lets to have dyed hair (there are kids with bright blue hair) and I really want to try something new.
Any advice?

Hi Sophie,
Why don't you try a more temporary approach like hair chalk or Anastasia's Hypercolors? That way your mum won't have to worry too much since it washes out.

Just ask her, but ask like 'do you think this would look nice, I've been thinking of dying this way if thats okay' so then your asking for her opinion and approval rather than just straight up asking permission =]

I have tried hair chalk, in the holidays, but my dad got sick to the stains in the shower. So I stopped, do you know any good quality ones?

I think the best way would just to ask. If your parents don't mind highlights then chances are.they won't mind this, maybe ask to start off subtle so if it doesn't turn out you can just cut a inch off.

Find semi permanents like mani panic and show them that it will not damage your hair and its not permanent.
