I was wondering if anybody can give me some advice. I want to dye my hair black with colored chunks through out my hair. mostly in between hair. should I bleach/lighten the chunks the same time I dye it black or different times, if so what are the steps. that you :-)

As a teenager I tried this. it can be done in one shot but your hair looks pretty dark so you may have to lighten several times for the streaks. I tied off parts of my hair into tight little balls around my head, hair that is left carefully dye black. rinse out and dry while still keeping streaks tied individually in pony tails. once dry, part and tie hair to make streaks accessible. for really light streaks, prepare for some damage as you will probably have to lighten a couple times. give yourself a day and have a friend help to avoid any embarrassment that may occur. or, try a hair dresser :).
