I been thinking about coloring my hair to a magenta color and I would like to do it myself to save money. What kind of bleaching products should I use? I have naturally black hair. I plan on looking at Sallys Beauty Supply and what products are great to use.

Manic panic has a good bleach and then just dye your hair. Or I think its loreal has a stripper. Any stripper would do the same. I used a stripper for my hair

I would reccomend loreals quick blue bleach its the very best bleach they sell at sallys, I got their beauty club card and it saves $$, I used quick blue I got the tub of it, because I have ash blonde hair, did it my self at home with a 30 volume developer, I would strip the hair first, and gradually bleach it with a bleach wash, for the bleach wash like I used, you look at the back of the bleach you choose to use, and you put the bleach in the bowl, then you cut the developer ammount in half and put half the developer in and the other part you normally would put the other half of the developer you add normal shampoo. put it on your hair and let it lighten, keep an eye on it. keep in mind you will have to deal with the orangey hair for a while cause since your hair is naturally black it won't go to light blonde the first time. do not over process though your hair WILL break off, trust me wait like 3-4 days before bleaching again, then bleach and wait a few days again. you will probly need a toner, to get it light enough I use the wella lightest ash blonde, then get your magenta and dye it with the instructions it says. hope that helps girl. I didnt do the magenta part but I definetly got the white hair on my own at home. (: goodluck.

And since your hair is black, do not use just any type of bleach, cause loreals quick blue lightens 7 levels, I'm going to cosmo school soon I have been around the block a few times with bleaching mishaps. just take your time I rocked the orange hair for about 3 weeks, but trust me it pays off. I had a level 4N dark brown almost black, so its going to be tough just take your time you don't wanna rush I made the mistake of rushing to get it done by my 18th bday in december, my hair broke off a little, so just make sure you give your hair rest and condition it well with deep conditioners, to give it some protein. look on youtube they have DIY deep conditioning masks to make yourself at home. any other questions feel free to ask, I'd love to help. I love everything hair related. (:
