Hi all,
I'm looking at buying make up brushes, but don't want to spend the dollars. Can anyone tell me a good affordable brand that should buy?
Thanks :)

Have a look at Real Techniques brushes. I have full collection and can't recommend them enough. They have soft bristles, are cruelty free, no shedding after few good months of usage and cleaning and great choice to build nice brush collection for everyday make up.
Another affordable brushes are from EcoTools, however with them is better to buy them after you have seen them as many are not full size but 'travel size' and I personally found smaller size difficult to work with. Brushes are also very soft, cruelty free and give no shedding, only choice is more limited than Real Techniques. I don't know where you are but in the UK EcoTools are much cheaper than Real Techniques.
Other brand little bit more expensive but having great quality brushes in my opinion is Royal & Langnickel, especially their Silk line and more expensive but lovely Revolution.

I'm a professional makeup artist and my advice is to buy synthetic hair brushes. If you find good ones (like sigma) they will work wonders. Synthetic doesn't soak up the product and waste it. Especially foundation. And they are so soft, clean well and the bristles don't fall out over time.

Thanks Ashley I really like the sounds of sigma brushes. I was going to buy mac brushes on eBay a 32 set for $75 Australian?

Guys I have been researching online and I think I will by real technique brushes from samantha chapman! They sound amazing and are available in Priceline. 😀

I love the Real Techniques brushes. Thankfully in the US the price is really affordable. Royal and Langnickle are awesome, too. I buy from them every year at the shows in NYC. I also really love the Italian Badger line by Crown Brush. They are super soft and very durable. The Sonia Kashuk brushes from Target are pretty good, too. I've had some crease brushes for the last five years that are still in great shape!

The answer to this question has multiple facets and is different depending on whether you are asking about brushes for personal use or for building a makeup artist's kit.
PERSONAL: If brushes are for personal use, some brands I like are: Real Techniques, MAC, some of the Sephora and Ulta lines, R & N. Sigma I find is hit or miss. These brushes are available to consumers and are at a price point that's affordable. BUT take into consideration that while some brushes marketed more to pros may be pricier, they will often with proper care last a long time. So in the end, you may save money. I have MAC brushes that are 10 years old and still trucking.
PRO: My fav brands for work are MAC, Rae Morris, Hakuhodo, Bdellium, R & N, and Billy B. I have a few random Sephora, Ulta, Smashbox, and Kryolan in there too. Honestly, I would keep Real Techniques in my pro kit except that because of the handle design they do not work for my kit.

Thanks guys for the great feed back! I bought the real technique brushes from iherb! So much cheaper and I got a $10 discount for my first purchase with them. Real technique brushes are sold in Priceline here in Australia for almost triple the price! So I am glad I have done my research. :))))
