Starting Accutane this month!

So on the 4th of this month, I'm going to start taking Accutane. I'm turning 19 next month and I've had acne for about 5 years now. It was never really severe but bad enough need full coverage foundation and concealer. For awhile I'd just get them on my cheeks, and my upper and lower lip and then on my chest and back but now I break out almost exclusively on my neck and jawline. It gets red and inflamed and they get a little swollen so they can be hard to cover up. The foundation and concealer I use are the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 hour ones.

Anywaaaays, sorry for the novel but has anyone else here been on Accutane? How bad were your side effects? When did they start/end? What did you use in terms of moisturizers and makeup?
Can the side effects be minimized?


My two older sisters and my cousin all took Accutane and their skin looks amazing now. They had the peeling skin and chapped lips so I know I'll get it too but I know it's going to be worth it!
