I used to dye my hair red all the time but I always went to a salon because I have black hair and I thought I would make a mess of it lol to take care of the colour I used the red shampoo by John Frieda I think. They have one for each hair colour.

I've had red hair a few times. Once blood red (such an awesome colour) from Manic Panic and the latest darker red is from Syoss. ^^

I just would like to add if you didn't know already that red is the quickest fading color in my experience. I've heard of some people adding a little bit of dye in their conditioner to help keep the color. I have never done this, and I have never colored my hair a pure bright red (I wish!) but I always do brown with some intense red undertones! so a lot of times it looks red in sunlight! I am no hair dresser and I don't know if you are planning on coloring your hair yourself, but usually when I color my hair I use a 30 vol developer on my roots and a 20 vol on the rest of my hair to make it look more vibrant. good luck!

I have naturally jet black hair and I used Loreal HiColor for Dark Hair and it turned out super bright red. if you don't want to bleach your hair, seriously look into this hair dye!

I've dyed my hair red twice now. It was a more natural look and I also used a temporary dye in case I didn't like it but I would definitely recommend it to anyone who's willing to try it!! :)

I used the same dye as Aliyah B. and it was so worth it! It didn't fade as fast as the other dyes, and gave off the perfect color. I used riveting reds conditioner and added some hair dye to it and I believe it helped. I only had to touch up my hair every month and a half. Oh and I did it to myself everytime lol (:
