Ok girls this is a tricky one and if anyone could help me I would be so grateful so here goes.. I had long hair for a long time and a couple of years ago got fed up of it as you do, and decided to get it cut off into a bob. Anyway I enjoyed 12 months of the bob and wanted long hair again so I had micro ring extensions and have been doing for 12months now. I have had them redone 4 times and each time I have them removed it leaves small matted knots! the only way to get them out is to smother them in conditioner and comb them out. The problem being is that every time I have done this it is taking more and more of my own hair out until my hair even though its grown just past my shoulders its really straggly ( its not split but has just really thinned out) I don't want to cut it though. I have now decided to not have them back I'm going to persevere and grow it back! I know its going to be hard but I think if I don't give it a rest I'm not going to ever have nice natural hair again.. my own hair is quite fine anyway but no where near as thin as it is now... HELP me please
what I want is ideas on good hairs thickners, styles, hair up tutorials for fine hair or anything to make it look more than it is!! I obviously don't want to use heated appliances to often and ruin what I have left... I would appreciate any help and advice... tku in advance x

Sorry didn't mean to send that alone! I also have thin hair and it helps a ton! It does take a few washes to actually notice some difference but don't give up on it

If and when your hair is long enough, wear it up until the broken hair grows in. This will protect your hair from more breakage.

I learned a lot by watching YouTube tutorials. There are thousands. Just type what you're looking for into the search box.

I take a vitamin called viviscal that has seemed to stop the thinning. I also french braid it or put in a ponytail & put a wig on most of the time to keep from not only using hot appliances but to keep from tugging at it by combing or brushing it. you should wear something on your head at night also like a satin cap or scarf. if you don't like the idea of wearing something to bed make sure to use a silk or satin pillow case.

I agree with kat. I got a massive hairloss as a side effect of accutane couple of years back and took phyto hair vitamins aswell. It worked wonders. Good I remember as had another course recently and now I must go and get phyto again. Tho hair not so bad this time. Thank you, kat, for bringing it up!

Ok, my hair was incredibly thin when I was little (I'm 17 now). And my mum would put coconut oil on it. You can keep it on as long as you want and then just wash off with shampoo and conditioner. My hair is ten times thicker than what it would be if I had never used coconut oil. I also like that its all natural :) Hope this helps :)

I had a lot of problems with breakage last year when I colored it like crazy!! On top of being super fine, my hair is also crazy dry, which makes the frizzies even worse. I've been working very hard to restore my hair to a decent state of health. Problem is, most of the things you would do for the dryness makes the super fine hair look greasy!!
First of all, my hair breaks a lot more if I consistently keep it up. The mechanical stress leads to more hair loss, per my hairdresser. I was told to try to avoid putting it up more than 3 days a week.
Second, I started sleeping on a satin pillowcase. It takes getting used to, but my hair doesn't snag or drag on the cotton.
After MUCH trial and error, I've found a routine that works well for me. I only wash it about 3 times a week. When I do, I use Paul Mitchell lavender and mint moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Then I use Paul Mitchell hydrating mist and Moroccan oil. I let those sink in for a while and air dry a smidge, then use Redken satinwear (heat protectant) and Redken rootfull. Then I blow-dry on medium heat. It doesn't take long to blow dry with my dryer, so I don't have too much exposure to heat. It's a process, but my hair feels SO MUCH BETTER!!
About once every week or two, I use a clarifying shampoo and deep conditioner.
