I use the 2 in 1 baby soap and it works great. warm water and do it until the water runs clean. it cleans my white brushes really good especially. that's how I know it works.

I just wrote a post about how to clean your brushes last week! Lol! You should actually deep clean your brushes weekly to remove any dirt, oil, dead skin and bacteria. I used to use Sephora Daily Brush Cleaner for daily use and the Brush Shampoo weekly but I just switched to using baby shampoo. I was leery of doing this but it works really well. Baby shampoo won't disinfect so I decided to buy Parian Spirit to use after the baby shampoo but I haven't tried it yet.
