Pink hair for dark hair??

I am think of coloring some of my hair a hot pink color. But I was wondering what is the best method to permanently color dark hair pink. Any help would be great  :)

Bleach it first and then dye it.

I like Special Effects for their pinks and purples especially! Punky Colors is pretty nice as well but they don't have much of a color selection. Manic Panic usually washes out a bit quicker than other brands... I also mix dye brands/colors a lot to create my own unique colors, so don't be afraid to experiment that way =)

@Natalie T Thank you so much :) I want to dye from the ear down hot pink and keep the rest black. Hopefully I can find special effects products here.

Just be careful mixing chemicals.

Some dyes you don't want to mix if your going to do that stick to the same brand.
