It really doesn't matter unless its 9 or older because even if your wearing makeup when your nine your only doing it for fun when your bored. Thirteen is when you should start wearing daily makeup but more neutral and as you get older progress with what your doing. Any age really you can start with lipgloss tho.

I began when I was 12. I only did my eyes, began foundation and such when I was 15-16.

I think makeup is appropriate at any age as long as a child understands that it is only to enhance beauty, not to cover it up.

I started when 10 I think some ppl are being a little unreasonable I mean 17?! Yikes I think the older the more makeup allowed like I wasn't allowed to wear lipstick or eyeliner till 12 and it's a choice for me to not wear foundation or anything like tht to this day.

I started at 14 but with mascara and and then added eye liner at 15 just start adding things as you grow up! many people will go crazy if your 13 and have on eye shadow with everything else. besides the less you use will make YOUR real face show and you won't be too scared to be without that much makeup in front of people!! don't get to use to wearing it everyday. most girls are scared to take off their make up because they think they are ugly without it don't let makeup ruin that for you

I personally didn't care to wear makeup- which just includes eyeshadow till I was 17... I believe a young girl should keep to her beautiful natural look as long as possible

I think mother's should educate their daughters about makeup with they're 13/14 so they don't end up buying products that will just cause more acne. I mean when you're that young all you really need is blush and maybe lip gloss so there isn't anything wrong with starting before you enter your teenage years.

I think 13 is a good age to start with mascara & lipgloss. It gives the girls a chance to feel more grown up and learn more about the products before they actually start using them.
In my opinion, people should stay away from face makeup for as long as possible. If they have acne, the make-up is only going to make it worse, and they're likely to start depending on the makeup to build their self-esteem. It also depends on how mature the person is & how much the parents trust them.

I think 12 upwards for wearing it in the house and experimenting with it but I don't like seeing really young girls plastered in it. Also most young girls have really nice skin and don't need it. I was about 17 when I started wearing it and applying it properly.
