So I'm new in the makeup world.. And want actual tips geared for me and not just the general!! I've followed many videos, collaborating different looks based on my products on hand.. And still do not have close to the smoothness or blending on the lid that I see and want! Give me your thoughts.. Much love n appreciation to everyone who posts on Beautylish, your the reason I know anything aabout makeup!
Notes:
1. Crease I used Pray For Me
2. Lid I used Enjoy The Silence
3. Brow highlight: Heavens
4. I used a cheap brush set (Bella Bellissima small dense shadow brush as well as their fluffier eyeshadow brush then an angled liner brush; double-ended foundation/powder brush)
5. I applied primers with my fingers.

Maybe try not using a lot of shadow on the brush or tapping the excess off before applying it. Also brushes are very important invest in good brushes

My holy grail is the NARS number 13 blending brush. It makes it sooo easy!

Thank you!! I never know which products are worth the money, or if you can cheap out and achieve the same end result. Brushes are I guess not one of the items I can settle for... I do try to tap the excess, however I'm still trying to understand the line between enough shadow and too much.

Start off with just a little bit and add as you go!

Trust me girl. You will love that brush. It's aabout 30 dollars but worth it, and if you take care of it it will last forever I've had mine over 2 years now!

Also I find when blending in the crease, pulling my eye tighter helps to blend. It might not work the same for you but give it a try!

This was my effort today.. It was for a job interview at a salon for reception.. So I went for the only look I know: dark crease, light lid. Did I use too much shadow again? And HOW HOW HOW do you prevent your eyeliner/mascara from getting on your lid? N once it's on, how do you get it off without ruining the look? (All makeup is the same with these exceptions: crease was Downtown, and I used Too Faced Lashgasm Mascara).

I keep my eyes slightly closed for aabout 30 seconds until its dry and if I do get it on the lid wait until its dried and I kinda pinch it off and then put a bit more shadow on top to cover it better.

You can take a fluffy brush wīth shadow that's close to your skin tone to blend the edges so you have no harsh lines. Use a light hand when you do this so you don't mute your colors too much. Also a good brush set is Real Techniques. I got mine at Ulta. Good luck!

I always apply eyeshadows with a damp to slightly wet brush that gives it a perfect finish n makeup look flawless.

Use a brown or black eyeliner to enhance your eyes. mascara too.

Also try creasing with more solid colors, like deep purples and browns, your outer half ish eye should be medium toned n inner lighter. currently your eye shadow seems monotoned completely.

When blending your eye shadow, always hold your brish either straight or tip the handle of your brush upward. when you try and blend with the handle of your brush at a downward angle (causing the brush to be at an upward angle) it creates a harsher line rather than to buffer it out. Hope this helps!!

Also a transition color thats close to your skin tone in between your crease color and brow highlight. be patient, slow down and blend, blend, blend!! :)
