A co worker sells Mary Kay. I have purchased the mineral brush. Today she asked if I used it. I told her I have not washed it yet. She said it was already clean and she always uses her brushes before washing. My question is do anyone wash first or do you not wash your brushes when purchased?

I only wash my makeup brushes every three months. I would think that the brush bristles are very clean when first purchased...at least I would like to think that, especially the more expensive brands.

I rub mine down after every use with a spray in daily brush cleaner and legitimately wash then every few weeks.
But I would think if a brush is fresh out of a rapper, you wouldn't necessarily need to wash it before use.

I wash mine before using them...just like I don't wear new clothes until I've washed them...I just think it's better safe than sorry...you don't know who handled that brush during production or shipping
